Mario graduated in Telecommunications Engineering by Universidad de Granada (Granada, Spain) in 2017. His BSc thesis consisted in the design and implementation of a medical device based on induction heating for cancer treatment. In 2017, he started a MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering at Universidad Pública de Navarra (Pamplona, Spain). He chose the specialisation in "biomechanic and biomaterials" at Universidad de Zaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain) and enjoyed an ERASMUS+ fellowship for 1 year at Tampere University (Tampere, Finland). His MSc thesis consisted in the software design and development of a segmentation tool to extract relevant information from in vitro cancerous cells. From November 2019, he is pursuing a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). His research at UPF is focused on the development of tools and methods for performing irreversible electroporation in cardiac tissue.
