Irene is a Biomedical Engineer, graduated in 2025 from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). During her studies, she developed a special interest in electronics and the design of biomedical implants, an interest she was able to further develop starting in 2024 with an internship at BERG. During this period, she participated in innovative projects such as eAXON ("Electronic AXONs: Wireless Microstimulators Based on the Electronic Rectification of Epidermally Applied Currents") and in low-field electroporation techniques for cancer treatments. These experiences allowed her to acquire skills in the design, development, and implementation of advanced biomedical systems. Currently, Irene is collaborating on the electronics development for a project aimed at treating chronic pain, expanding her experience in the integration of biomedicine and electronics.
