Burak has a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In the last year of his undergraduate education, he worked on a research project about fabricating microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (µPADs) for point-of-care lung cancer diagnosis with microRNA detection. He acquired his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (2016-2019) from Boğaziçi University (İstanbul, Turkey). At the beginning of his master’s studies, he developed PDMS-based microfluidic devices with different complex tasks to monitor the movement of acoustically propelled drug-loaded nanomotors. During his master’s thesis studies, he worked on fabricating tissue-mimicking materials and their characterization using Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. program in Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). His research at UPF is focused on studying electroporation at low field magnitudes.
