Aracelys studied Electronic Engineering at Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela and received her diploma in 2005. She participated in the CEMACUBE Erasmus Mundus Programme in 2014. Within this programme, she completed the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, following the first year at Ghent University, Belgium and the second year at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. In her Master thesis at the Institute for Materials in Electrical Engineering 1 (IWE1) RWTH Aachen, she worked in the design and fabrication of enhanced Micro Electrodes Arrays (MEA) for electroporation of retinal cells. Her interests are in biomaterials and implantable electronics. Aracelys is currently pursuing a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) as part of the Biomedical Electronics Research Group (BERG).
