Álvaro graduated in Biomedical Engineering from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in 2025. He completed his Bachelor’s thesis at the Biomedical Electronics Research Group (BERG), entitled “Design and Implementation of a Multielectrode System to Monitor Electroporation in the Myocardium”, within the project funded by La Marató de TV3 “Electroporation in cardiac tissue: from safe and efficient cardiac arrhythmia ablation to new therapeutic indications”. Following this work, he is currently working as a Cardiac Ablation Research Specialist at the Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Barcelona), continuing his research under the same La Marató project in close collaboration with BERG. His activities include in silico modeling and in vivo experimentation. His research interests focus on biomedical electronics and cardiac ablation technologies. He is currently a visiting scholar at BERG (UPF) and will soon begin an MSc in Electronic Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
