Borja studied physics at the Universitat de Barcelona, and received his diploma in 2012. Then he took a two year MSc degree in biomedical engineering at Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and recieved his diploma in 2014. In September 2015 he started his PhD at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies - UPF, holding a DOC scholarship as Trainee student researcher. He obtained his PhD in October 2019. The main focus of his research is cancer treatment by means of electrical methods and, in particular, by means of electroporation.
